Bridport Chess Club Crashed out of the Dorset Knockout Cup after a narrow semi final defeat against Wimborne. Bridport who had beaten favourites Southbourne met Wimborne on Thursday night to do battle at the Colliton club in Dorchester. Robert Wright on top board lost on time but had a won position. Colin Winch drew, and the on form Malcolm Stevens had a rare loss. Julian May managed to swindle himself... 

West Dorset Mens Hockey Club generally had a good season. In the early part of the season they started well winning most games and drawing some they should have lost. After Christmas they were in a comfortable position knowing that relegation was not possible. There was mixed feeling in the camp as to whether they should push for promotion to the regional league and the general feeling towards this...
