Bridport top in National Name Census

It has been revealed the town of Bridport in Dorset came out top in the National Name Census. Bridport claimed 1st place in the ‘creative name category’ scoring well for diverse and culturally different names such as Monty, Lucias, Genevieve, Erasmus, Etienne, Moses, Noah, Anastasia and Boadicea.

Roger Hazelwood from Bridport who researched and compiled the list sent into the Nation Name Census was delighted “I always knew Bridport was a personal name goldmine. People here are so creative and its only natural that they want to stay clear of your boring run of the mill everyday names. He also said “It never ceases to amaze me how little thought and effort people actually put in to choosing the name of their child, but in Bridport we are miles ahead of the country when it comes to baby naming”.
