Closed This is a shame because Bridport is in danger of becoming full of either charity shops, or empty shops. The key factor seems to be the councils increasing rent charge. The Hop In The Grapevine  – specialist in westcountry beers and ciders closed recentlystruggling in the current financial climate. Having once been a Threshers chain the owners invested time money in rebranding  only to see a Spar shop open next door.  The inevitable price war started with only one long term winner. This is a very sad loss of a local business that made Bridport highstreet...
