Bridport Carnival The popular Bridport Carnival is set to take place on the 21st of August 2010 starting from St Swithens Road at 7:30pm. There will be a fantastic selection of floats – hopefully includidng the famous DT6 float. Afterward there is dancing in South Street from 9pm – 11pm and a funfair also open in Asker Meadows. It has been revealed the town of Bridport in Dorset came out top in the National Name Census. Bridport claimed 1st place in the ‘creative name category’ scoring well for diverse and culturally different names such as Monty, Lucias, Genevieve, Erasmus, Etienne, Moses, Noah, Anastasia and Boadicea.
