News From The Olive Tree

Bridport Hat Festival

The Hat Festival takes place this weekend, 6th & 7th of September 2013. This event is now in its third year

and has proved immensely popular with hat wearing people flocking the streets of Bridport, to see all the

great shows, talks and other events, not to mention the mass hat wearing photos. We’ll all be wearing our

best hats for a busy weekend at Olive Tree – don’t forget to book your table before they’re all full.

Love Learning

French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian Courses, plus Cookery Club once monthly start again on

23rd September in Bridport, Weymouth and Sherbourne. If you’d like to find out more about the language

courses there will be a ‘Meet The Tutor’ event at the Olive Tree on Saturday 14th September starting at 10:30.

Taste Of Dorset Awards – Finalists

We were runners up in the ‘Best Restaurant’ category at this year’s ‘Taste Of Dorset Food Awards’. This class

is about the overall quality of the meal and the dining experience, with an emphasis on value for money,

local provenance, the knowledge and skill of the staff, and the presentation and taste of the food.

A big ‘thank you’ to anyone who nominated us for this award.

Autumn & Christmas

I know I know … we’re talking about Christmas & the summer isn’t over yet. Sorry. But, in my defense, we’ve

already had our first booking for New Years Eve & we haven’t written the menu yet. We’ll be sending out

information on our Autumn & Christmas programme in our next newsletter towards the end of the month.

Back To School

We’ve had a busy summer at Olive Tree & we were fully booked every night, so sorry if our regulars

struggled to get tables. Here’s a reminder of what’s on –

Monday Evening – Petra draws caricatures.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Evenings – Local Guitarists

Tuesday – Tapas Night

*Kids Eat Free* – Under 12s eat free on Pasta & Pizza. Weekdays between 6pm & 7pm
