West Dorset Mens Hockey Club generally had a good season. In the early part of the season they started well winning most games and drawing some they should have lost. After Christmas they were in a comfortable position knowing that relegation was not possible.

There was mixed feeling in the camp as to whether they should push for promotion to the regional league and the general feeling towards this was the extra travelling and much tougher opposition would have a negative effect. So West played out the rest of the season with a relaxed attitude which led to a number of needless defeats, however they gathered their compsure again towards the end of the season to finish 4th out of 12 which was an improvement on last year.

The club would like to say a special thanks to Martain Cox of Highlands End Holiday Park in Eype for sponsoring the new shirts. And also to Lee Connolly, Mark Smith and Gavin Brooking for driving the team around most of the season.

The top scorer award was shared with Simon Wakely and  Alex Davies with 12 goals each. The wooden spoon went to Jolly & Hugo Bugg and the clubman award went to TBA.
